Obtain in the early fall
Your initial application should be submitted to either your guidance counselor or the Admissions Office so the Admissions Office can receive all components of your application packet by our Application Completion deadline, December 20th. Applications received after the December 20th deadline may limit the student’s opportunity for admission.
Attend a High School Night
Some private parochial schools will host a High School Night for their 7th and 8th graders. Representatives from the Admissions Office participate at these events. Dates and times will be made available.
Attend our Assembly Program
October though November
Informational Assembly Programs are scheduled for eighth grade students at district schools. The information presented includes a recruitment power point which describes the technical programs, academic courses, cooperative education, special education resources, sports, clubs, other extracurricular activities and the application process. The Director of Admissions may coordinate other presenters, who may include administration, guidance, faculty, and student representatives. Dates and times are made available at the district public school and the Admissions Office.
November 6, 2019 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
All district residents who attend 6th, 7th and 8th grades, along with their families, are invited to attend our annual Open House. This is an important event in recruiting new students to our school. Open House demonstrates first-hand to our visitors the advantages of attending Blue Hills Regional Technical School. Throughout our school, there will be live presentations, demonstrations and testimonials by teachers, staff, students, alumni and parents.

Come visit and experience Blue Hills! Blue Hills is offering two major events in November for prospective students to engage and experience our Career and Technical Education with Purpose. Open House is an evening event for 6th-, 7th- and 8th-grade students to bring their parents or guardians to Blue Hills to see our career and technical education programs with over 1700 future career options. It is an event for the entire family that provides an opportunity for prospective students to visit and learn about our career and technical programs, academic courses, co-operative work placements and future college and career pathways. Showcase is an interactive morning event for eighth-grade students, who can engage with exciting, hands-on projects in our career and technical education programs while experiencing real student life by meeting our students and teachers. Engage! Experience! Exceed!

Schedule a “Warrior for a Day” Visit
December through January
If you are a 9th or 10th grade applicant and have not attended a Middle School Assembly Program, our Open House Event or our Showcase Event, this program will provide you with a closer look into the life of a Blue Hills Regional student and the unique career and technical offerings. Visitors will shadow a student host through this 2.5 hours visitation program from 8:00 a.m.to 10:30 a.m. To schedule a visit, complete the Warrior for a Day Request Form and return to the Admissions Office. Application Completion Deadline
Your school guidance counselor or designee must submit all supporting information to complete your application packet such as grades, recommendation, conduct and attendance evaluation forms.
December– January 31st
All applicants must be interviewed following the receipt of the completed application packet from the local school. Interviews take place either on-campus at Blue Hills Regional Technical School or at their district public school. The Admissions Office arranges interview appointments with either the district public schools or parents. In most cases, applicants are interviewed on campus following the arranged school’s tour and interview program held at Blue Hills Regional Technical School. Applicants who do not participate in the school’s tour and interview program are scheduled an on-campus interview. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) are contacted by the Admissions Office for the interview appointment. All interviews are targeted to be completed by January 31st
Decision Notifications will be sent on or after February 21st. A second round of notification letters will be sent to notify late applicants and/or students on the waiting list of their status on or after March 18th. Later preliminary notification letters are sent until the openings are completely filled.
Confirmation of Intention to Attend
Accepted students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) must notify the Director of Admissions of their intention to attend Blue Hills Regional by March 6th. If no such notification is received, applicants on the waiting list will be accepted in their place. Those receiving Decision Notification letters sent in the second round of notification letters must notify the Director of Admissions of their confirmation to attend by April 1st. The number of acceptance letters sent will be based on the number of unfilled placements. Later confirmation dates will be scheduled until the openings are completely filled.
March 19, 2020 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
We hope that you can attend this event to welcome our new students. It is important for students and parents to really feel connected to their new school community as well as meet their new teachers before the school year begins. We want students, as well as parents, leaving this event feeling that they can't wait to start school at Blue Hills this fall.
